I have little experience with pressing fruit for juice but had a good crop of grapes this year and wanted to juice them. I tried a steam juicer and did not like the results so started looking for a press but did not want to spend a fortune. Reviews for the less expensive ones complained about metal shavings coming off in the juice probably because the pressing screw was not hardened steel. I was giving up when I spotted this one with what looked like a car hydraulic jack. Since a jack that can lift a car is sturdy, if the rest of the set up is sturdy it should press very well. I was impressed. The frame is sturdy and handles the pressure of the hydraulic jack without bending. The stainless outer and inner containers are sturdy and clean up easily. The pressing plate is substantial stainless steel and also cleans up easily. Even the juicing bag is of good quality. I cleaned out the waste and threw it in the washing machine to clean and it came out looking good. This is not a hugh press but it worked well for me with my crop of grapes. I did three pressings to juice all my grapes. The outer container is 9.5 inches in diameter and 9.5 inches tall. This worked so well I think I will try some pears also. I got the best yield if I pressed to maximum and left it sit that way for a short time then came back and was able to increase pressure and get more juice. I recommend this set up as a reasonable size table top press.
