This makes fantastic apple cider with a little muscle power. You need to attach it to a very heavy/stable platform for best use. Be aware that the paint will sometimes flake off and end up in your cider so I need to filter a second time to make sure I'm not drinking paint chips.I used it a couple of times to make some juices. Mom has been using it to assist in her special dishes. And it's been working greatly so far. One thing I noticed when making juices is that, when on a flat and surface, I still have to manually angle it down a little to get the pressed juice flowing.The shaft bends without much force. Leaves a lot of juice in the pomace.I'm not sure why people say this thing leaks, it has no bolts to leak from, the posts are welded and there are no holes on the bottom. the whole thing is very heavy duty, This in my opinion is the best design, requires no wood blocks and does not get the apples against the screw to get grease in your juice. Super easy to clean, I was very surprised at how heavy this thing is, it is not cheaply made. You won't be disappointed. It did take a little while to ship, but I ordered it at the peak of apple harvesting time. It also comes with a decent bag to put your fruit in before pressing.In years past I had fruit go to waist because I just couldn’t use it fast enough. Now I can make sider and nothing is wasted.We love this press. Used it for extracting/ pressing honey this year. Worked excellent. Will be using for pressing fruits this summer and fall.Lasted 10 minutes before catastrophic failure. Horrible quality in materials.I own a couple different fruit presses, and I wasn't so pleased with this latest addition.First, it is difficult to clean. This is the only press I own that does not have a removable tray at the bottom of the press. As such, the entire press needs to be moved to a cleaning station, or lifted into the sink. This makes a through cleaning difficult. This is by far may biggest complaint.Other issues were no food-safe grease was supplied for the threaded press, and the unit must be mounted to something heavy to avoid it moving and you attempt to apply higher torque to press.Better options are available.J,ai acheté ce produit pour presser mes sauces shoyu, mais je compte aussi l'utiliser pour presser des pommes à cidre. La poignée est très ergonomique et tourne comme un charme. Facile à nettoyer et compacte pour le volume qu'elle contient.Je l’utilise pour essorer mon manioc (cassava) que j’ai préalablement broyé finement pour la fabrication de mon attiéké (couscous de manioc) .j’y ai mis 11 kg de manioc ,il est robuste et de bonne qualité et très facile à utiliser . Très contente de mon achat ,je le recommande sans hésiter .Excellent for cheese making. I can pressed 6 gallons of milk made into queso fresco (~4 kg) in a breezeNot a great machine. The drain pan leaked at both bolts. Fine thread means a lot of spins to move the plate up and down. No quick release to speed it up. Plate doesn't squish evenlyExcellent quality great for crushing bee's honeycomb which is its primary purpose.
